Sound artist Martin Osman, also known as dot.i, is joining ACAVA’s Cultivate Create programme as artist-in-residence this summer.
He will be working with families at Maxilla Walk Gardens in North Kensington across June and July 2026.
Speaking about what draws him to the programme, Martin said:
“I find it really exciting and interesting to find out people’s own personal journeys, and also how the Cultivate Create programme has had an impact on their lives and how it allows people to be the humans that they want to be.”
Martin’s practice spans music, oral histories, installations and soundscapes. His work uncovers the voices, memories and stories embedded in places and communities, using field recordings, archival material and experimental composition.
During his residency, Martin will lead hands-on creative sessions with Cultivate Create families, exploring food stories, recipes, personal journeys and experiences of the garden, and developing art and sound together.
Martin joins a programme that has been running since 2022, giving families in North Kensington the space to grow food, explore nature and get creative together. Sessions run twice a month on Saturdays at Maxilla Walk Gardens, and are free to attend.
Cultivate Create is open to families living in, or with children attending a state primary school in, North Kensington. Sign-up is essential.
