Make and Reuse Creative Workshops: An Introduction to Circular Carpentry

Over four days, learn how to create a new chair inspired by Enzo Mari’s designs whilst reusing responsibly sourced materials from the local area.

This course led by Sasha Tishkov and StorqueStudios takes inspiration from Italian furniture maker Enzo Mari’s chair designs and the three principles of circular carpentry: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials, and regenerate nature.

Course participants will be introduced to circular carpentry, material, design, and practical furniture-making and assembling elements. By the end of the workshop, every participant will have their chair ready to be taken home.

All timber planks used for this workshop are from wooden pallets responsibly sourced from West London.

Circular carpentry is a production model that involves reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials, extending the life cycle of materials as long as possible – a resilient system that is good for business, people, and the environment.
