To mark this year’s Great Big Green Week, ACAVA will open the doors to the kitchen garden at Maxilla Walk Studios for an afternoon on Saturday 15 June, and celebrate our creative growing project Cultivate Create with the wider community.

Join us for fun creative activities, meet the team leading this year’s growing season, explore Maxilla Forest School garden and spend time outdoors with other members of our community.

This year, we are also celebrating our new partnership with Hammersmith Community Gardening Association, which will help to maintain the garden and help our new community gardener Maria Cabrera with mentoring and support.

Cultivate Create is a creative growing project for North Kensington families with a focus on wellbeing and emotional resilience. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space for families in which to be creative and connect to nature. Families meet in the garden every other week to learn about ecosystems and biodiversity, how to grow from seed to harvest and play outdoors in the Maxilla forest school.

The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest-ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. In 2024, Great Big Green Week will take place between 8 and 16 June.

Cultivate Create has been funded by the North Kensington Recovery Programme as part of its self-care offer known as Healthier Futures.
