ACAVA open studios summer 2026
Marking Narratives, an ACAVA and Shubbak Festival programme led by Issam Kourbaj

This summer, we are opening the doors to three of our studio communities in North Kensington, Shepherd’s Bush and Stoke-on-Trent. All events are free and open to everyone.

Maxilla Studios Open Art Weekend, North Kensington
Saturday 27 – Sunday 28 June, 2–6pm (opening evening Saturday 27 June, 6–11pm)
At the heart of this weekend is Weaving Connections, a group exhibition featuring Maxilla Walk residents and guest artists, curated and organised by residents Tetiana Hlavatskykh, Kira Zhigalina and Oliver Gingrich. Explore studios across the weekend and discover 2D and 3D artworks, multimedia, interactive installations, live performances and DJ sets. On the evening of Saturday 27 June, the studios will host live performances, DJ sets and refreshments until 11pm.
Both days are part of KCAW Fringe, a satellite programme of Kensington and Chelsea Art Week, taking place 25–28 June 2026. The event is supported by the Westway Trust.

Blechynden Street Open Studios, Shepherd’s Bush

On the same day, ACAVA Blechynden Street Studios opens its doors for a day of open studios. Meet local painters, sculptors, filmmakers, ceramicists and textile artists, visit their workspaces, and browse original artwork for sale. Both Blechynden Street and Maxilla Walk are a short walk from Latimer Road station, making it easy to visit both on the same day.
This event is also part of KCAW Fringe.

Spode Works Summer Open Studios, Stoke-on-Trent
Saturday 4 July, 11am–5pm
On 4 July, over 40 artists open their studios at Spode Works in Stoke-on-Trent. The day also marks the opening of 10 Years Apart, a new group exhibition showcasing new and old works by resident artists. This is a chance to see behind the scenes at one of Stoke-on-Trent’s most active creative communities, with artists working across a wide range of practices.
The summer open studios are part of a wider celebration of the Spode site, with Spode Works Regeneration Ltd (Potbank), Dog & Bone, Spode Museum, Stoke-on-Trent College, BCB and others also opening their doors on the day.
