The programme is being delivered between April and October 2022 to coincide with the eight-month growing season.
Families have been working with two Creative Gardeners, Romany Taylor and Gal Leshem, to cultivate an edible garden and nurture the bio-diversity of ACAVA’s Maxilla Walk Studios yard and the adjoining Maxilla Forest School Garden in innovative ways.
In the second half of the season, the group will harvest, cook, and eat edible produce together, which will include opportunities to invite the wider community to celebrate the project’s achievements.
In addition to preparing, planning, sowing, growing, harvesting, cooking and eating produce, each session will include a making activity to enhance the garden. Examples: design creative ways to harvest water, create garden sculptures for climbers, collect seeds to make seed bombs, etc.
Cultivate Create is a partnership with the NHS North Kensington Recovery Programme.
