Property Manager

Term of contract: Full time or part time (negotiable) permanent
Hours: 37.5 hrs p/w (average) worked within core office hours, Mon-Fri, some working time flexibility is possible
Salary: £30-32k pa, contributory pension, 22 days holiday p/a plus bank holidays
Location: ACAVA’s offices at 54 Blechynden Street, London W10
Reports to: CEO
Line manages: Caretakers / Site Managers, Assistant Buildings Manager and external contractors

The organisation
ACAVA is a leading artists’ studio provider, arts organisation and educational charity that operates a portfolio of 20 buildings, providing studios for almost 500 artists, mostly in London, but also in Essex and Stoke-on-Trent.

We regularly work with external partners, including: arts organisations; schools; HEIs; the NHS; clinical commissioning groups; local authorities; trusts and foundations and statutory funders such as Arts Council England.

Our charitable purpose is fulfilled through our socially engaged public programmes that engage and empower diverse communities by enabling them to create visual arts and culture.

ACAVA operates from its purpose-built accessible offices, studios and community workshop in North Kensington. We have established strong relationships with the diverse communities in the area over the past twenty years. Located close to Grenfell Tower, we support local people, community groups, third sector and voluntary organisations to provide artistic opportunities to memorialise and recover from the Grenfell Tower fire.

We also deliver a range of arts related services and programmes, including: professional development; exhibitions; talks; residencies; commissioning and consultancy.
 

Purpose of role
Manage a planned programme of regular maintenance and repair works to ensure that our properties are in good condition and that buildings, studios and workspaces meet the required health and safety standards.

Project manage and oversee works programmes and keep strict control of related costs, expenditure and overall budgets.

Oversee rigorous and timely adherence to the terms and conditions of leases and insurance agreements.

Maintain excellent standards of written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain accurate and up to date records of all works, reports and compliance on our internal IT systems and keep the CEO and colleagues informed as necessary.
