Nature, with Aimee Parrott
Tues 30 July, 2pm–4pm
Cyanotypes
Take inspiration from the Maxilla Garden and experiment with one of the earliest forms of photography.
Weds 31 July, 2pm–4pm
Plastercasting
Select leaves and flowers from the garden and learn how to make plaster cast impressions, then turn them into hanging decorations.
Thurs 1 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Paper Flower Sculptures
Create abstract paper flower sculptures and headdresses using nature for inspiration.

Play & Invention, with Flora Duly
Tues 6 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Mini Go-Karts
Create your very own toy cars and go-karts and enter your inventions into fun wacky-races style games.
Weds 7 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Creatures & Characters
Creating animal sculptures and wearable cut-out characters, families will make habitats and stories about their creatures.
Thurs 8 Aug, 2pm–4pm
DIY Toys & Games
A fun afternoon making spinning tops, catapults and giant tiddly winks...or simply design new gadgets and contraptions for play.

Mirror, with Ursula Kelly
Tues 13 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Mirror Maze
With your family, build a labyrinth of reflective surfaces in the Maxilla Garden to create a giant mirror maze.
Weds 14 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Polytile Printing
Making observational drawings from reflective surfaces, families will create printed mirror images using polytiles. Accessible and fun for all.
Thurs 15 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Camera Obscura
Families will make a giant lens-less camera that creates upside down images of the world around us. Children can also make mini ones to take home.

Tues 20 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Twigs & Twine
Create a collective community tapestry in the Maxilla Garden, using the tree trunks as the frame and recycled materials and textiles as the threads.
Weds 21 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Screenprinted Bunting
Design and screenprint simple patterns onto cotton cloth, cut into triangles to create lengths of family-bunting.
Thurs 22 Aug, 2pm–4pm
Floral Collage
Learn about pollinators, flowers and plants by creating a collaborative group collage using magazines, paper and your own drawings.
