Studio development during the recession is BBC news

The creative energy of artists in defiance of the recession, and the development of studios in buildings left empty in the present economic climate, is the subject of BBC London news.

Speaking as Chair of the National Federation of Artists’ Studio Providers, Duncan Smith, the ACAVA Artistic Director, also pointed out that the rapid filling of super affordable studios such as the 60 created by ACAVA in an empty school in Parkham Street, Battersea, demonstrates an unmet need, particularly of recent graduates. He also raised the question of what will happen to this creative energy when the economy recovers and property prices rise again.
