Looking for a Photographer to work with young people

Are you an ACAVA member and a Photographer? ACAVA is looking for a Photographer to work with young people in North Kensington.

We have been commissioned by the new NHS West London Clinical Commissioning Group to deliver a project engaging communities in North Kensington in the development of a series of art works for permanent display in the St Charles Centre for Health and Wellbeing.

Two groups have already been formed to design and make a series of mosaic works, and we would like to form a third group made up of 8 young people (14 – 18) to work with a photographer to document the development of the mosaic pieces, group participants and/ or the architecture of the St Charles site.

The photographer will need to be an ACAVA member and ACAVA’s equipment will be available to use. The brief is to produce between 4 and 8 digital images suitable for enlarging to A1 or A0 size which will be framed for permanent display within the St Charles Centre.

The fee is worked out on the basis of £31 per hour for the following:
- 3 hours planning (including attending a planning meeting)
- 18 hours delivery (6 sessions of 2 hours group contact and ½ hour either side to set up/ pack up)
- 3 additional hours to support the project (attendance at launch event, installation and evaluation)

Total fee: £744.00

Please take into account the following:

·         The participants will need to be fully involved in creating the final images, so you will need to demonstrate how you will support them to do this over 6 sessions
·         A planning meeting will be arranged for week commencing 9th March, please include your availability that week
·         The sessions will need to take place between 16th February and the 20th March (days and times are flexible, tbc at planning meeting)
·         The digital images need to be handed over to ACAVA by 9am on 23rd March
·         The launch event will be held on Saturday 28th March 2015

If you are interested in this opportunity please send an up to date C.V. up to three images of your work (or link to your website) and a brief breakdown of your planned approach to delivering the project, to iniven@acava.org by 9am on 5th February 2015. You will be informed of the outcome by 5pm on the 6th February.
