Hadleigh Old Fire Station Open Weekend

Hadleigh Old Fire Station (HOFS) will hold an Open Weekend over four days this August Bank Holiday Weekend.
The weekend will showcase the fantastic variety of activities and creative work that happens at HOFS and to inspire everyone to get involved. Ranging from a pop-up cinema, community choir, and artist-led workshops, to jazz, keep fit, kung-fu and local history sessions. Activities are free and will appeal to all ages (children under 16 need to be accompanied).
We’re kicking off the weekend on Friday 24th with FREE Circus Skills workshops for children from age 3 -11. That’s followed by a Pop-up Cinema evening. Booking for these events is advisable as spaces are limited. Tickets will be available from 1st August so book early to avoid disappointment.
We have Open Studios from Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th where you’re welcome to have a wander round and see all the great work that’s created by our resident artists. Stop and have a chat or be inspired to have a go in our artist-led workshops and taster sessions exploring different media. Run by professional artists and suitable for all ages it’s a great way to spend a morning or afternoon, they’re FREE and no booking is required, just drop in. Some studios are on our upper floors and are only accessible via stairs.
HOFS artist’s work will be on display throughout the weekend in the Appliance Hall, where the fire engines used to be, and most of the works will be for sale along with art cards and prints, all at affordable prices. You can get creative too, helping create our artist-led community art installation, no previous experience required.
Bank Holiday Monday is our Community Day and we’ve invited our community to let you know what they do and how you can get involved. FREE ENTRY, there will be live music, stalls, fitness demonstrations and much more. Great for all the family and refreshments will be available. It’s a chance to find out about all the fantastic things to get involved in locally. It’s going to be a great day – come along and join the fun.
“Hadleigh Old Fire Station has become a real community hub and our Open Weekend is a great opportunity to showcase all the fantastic things that happen here. We’re hoping to inspire everyone to get involved in something and there’s definitely plenty going!” Sue Willis, HOFS artist/studio holder.
