Hadleigh Old Fire Station officially opened

Hadleigh Old Fire Station was offically opened on Thursday 6 October.

Those in attendance included Rebecca Harris, MP for Castle Point, The Mayor of Castle Point Councillor Jackie Govier, Councillor Pam Challis OBE, Leader of Castle Point Borough Council and Chairman of Castle Point Regeneration Partnership, Councillor Stephen Castle, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Education and the 2012 Games and Chairman of the Olympic Legacy Board, Councillor Simon Smith, Chairman of Rochford District Council, Jason Fergus, Head of 2012 Legacy and Strategic Sport, Essex County Council,  Mark Evershed, Castlepoint Regeneration Partnership Manager, Lindsey Strange, Arts Project Manager, Essex County Council, local authority officers, local people and artists.

A new centre for arts, culture and community, the HOFS is the result of a collaboration between ACAVA, Essex County Council and Castle Point Regeneration, and funding from the Homes and Communities Agency. It has 15 artists' studios, offices for 2 community groups and a multi purpose exhibition, events and meetings space, the Appliance Hall.
