Green for Grenfell on 12th, 13th and 14th June

This Sunday 14th June 2020 will mark three years since the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Communities in North Kensington are planning a Green for Grenfell weekend, inviting locals to make use of green colour gel and solar spotlights to bring green light to local households and businesses.

Grenfell Tower, Trellick Tower, Silchester Estate towers and Edward Woods towers will be going green from dusk on 12th June through to the 14th June.

The local community has planned a day of remembrance online, to view the schedule for the day visit this page.

ACAVA's Programme team will be greening the windows of Studio 1 at ACAVA Blechynden Street Studios and have invited our artists in that building to decorate their windows and illuminate their studios as well.

You can visit the Green for Grenfell Facebook page here.

ACAVA has been working with local residents and community organisations to mark the time since the fire. Every month we have been working on and adding new sections to the Grenfell Memorial Community Mosaic on the hoarding at the base of the tower.

On Friday 12th June we will be adding a new leaf to the memorial, created on behalf of Humanity for Grenfell prior to lockdown. Featuring the word Humanity, like the other leaves already installed, it will also include 72 gold flecks to remember the lives lost in the fire.
