Flourish Trace, Free family fun this half term

Free half-term family fun returns to Maxilla in May with Flourish "Trace". Families will work with three artists over three days to make different kinds of art and exploring the theme “Trace” – for North Kensington residents. We're launching a workshop for teens as well with artist Ursula Kelly – only 10 places available so booking recommended, more details below.

 

Programme for families
Workshops are suitable for 4yrs -11yrs and their parent/carer, refreshments will be served.

I-Spy

with Flora Duly
​Tuesday 28th May, 2–4pm

Using your family explorer skills, investigate the world around you like secret agents. Discover clues and traces, create impressions and maps using paper clay, printing techniques and magnifying glasses.

Humans Make Plastic
with Camilla Brendon
Wednesday 29th May, 2–4pm

Taking inspiration from the wonderful Maxilla garden, families will create hanging sculptures using modrock, wire, found objects and everyday things.

Shadow Tracers
with Teresa Paiva
Thursday 30th May, 2–4pm

Join Teresa to create large scale collaborative collages using silhouettes, rubbings, maps and traces from the local area.

3D Kinetic Sculptures

with Ursula Kelly
Friday 31st May, 2–4pm

Inspired by the work of artist Dale Chihuly, young people will create large scale 3D moving sculptures that map out and abstract local routes and journeys.
