Flourish Connect, free family fun this Spring break

We have organised free art activities for families in North Kensington for the upcoming school holidays 9th-18th April. All local families are welcome to come and have fun making art with three different artists, each exploring the theme “Connect”.

Tuesdays to Thursdays 2-4pm: Workshops
Wednesdays 10.30am: Storytelling

All activities will be taking place at Acava’s Maxilla Studios, 4 Maxilla Walk, W10 (the former children’s centre under the Westway). All workshops suitable for ages 4yrs-11yrs and children must be accompanied by a parent/carer. To book your free place enter your details on this form.

Tuesday 9th April 
workshop starts 2pm

Spaces to Share with Nicole Morris
Using drawing, sculpture and video projections, create a monumental giant body and parade it through the Maxilla space

Wednesday 10th April 
workshop starts 10.30am

Ali’s Story Trail with Ali Williams
Children help Ali tell a series of interactive stories using puppets, song and movement which reflect the theme “Connect”

Wednesday 10th April 
workshop starts 2pm

Spaces to Dream with Nicole Morris
Create an enormous imaginary unseen world in the sky and explore it using torches and our very own storytelling

Thursday 11th April 
workshop starts 2pm

Spaces to Occupy with Nicole Morris
Build your very own inside out shelter using bamboo, wool, fabric, cellophane, drawings and video projections

Tuesday 16th April 
workshop starts 2pm

Puzzle Portraits with Teresa Paiva
Create your own self portrait using oil pastels and paint, then make it into a puzzle with your family members

Wednesday 17th April 
workshop starts 10.30am

Morning Adventures with Ali Williams
Children help Ali tell a series of interactive stories using puppets, song and movement taking us on imaginary journeys

Wednesday 17th April 
workshop starts 2pm

Marvellous Mobiles with Teresa Paiva
Make a suspended mobile and experiment with balance and weight, weave a story into the artwork using cutouts and drawings

Thursday 18th April 
workshop starts 2pm

Weaving Time with Teresa Paiva
Create three dimensional sculptural looms and explore the tradition of weaving, using recycled materials transform the structures into beautiful objects
