Call to Performance Artists

‘This everyday world affects the way art is created as much as it conditions its response.’ - Allan Kaprow. Gatehouse live is a series of live performance evenings based in the newly opened Gatehouse Arts Gallery, situated in Harlow, Essex. Funded by the Arts Council and Harlow Renaissance, Gatehouse Live seeks to be a platform from which artists working in performance, sound, music and choreography can exhibit and showcase their work.

For the second of these events, we are seeking work that explores the subject of the everyday; performances that attempt to integrate art and life; the small boundaries in which creativity and the banal cross over; the overlooked or the underappreciated. Artists are encouraged to remember that whilst themes are outlined they are open to interpretation and can be loosely connected. As Gatehouse Live is committed to showing live work, priority will be given to those submitting performance based pieces but video will also be considered. To apply please contact Rachel Fox, at rachel_fox88@hotmail.co.uk and request an application form. Deadline for applications is Friday 4th March. Gatehouse Live is to be held on the evening of Tuesday 22nd March.
