AYAH, Islamic Digital Art at Maxilla Space

A collaborative exhibition on Islamic Digital Art hosted by FLUX Events, ACAVA and Sara Choudhrey for the Grenfell Community at Maxilla Space.

FLUX and artist Sara Choudhrey invite the public and local communities affected by the Grenfell disaster to explore new forms of artistic practice by focusing on Islamic digital art. Maxilla Space will open its doors to engage the local community with geometric and floral patterns as a means to contribute towards a collaborative installation artwork to be exhibited for public viewing.

The AYAH exhibition will be co-curated by FLUX and Sara Choudhrey at Maxilla Space, North Kensington on 30th June - 1 July 2018. The exhibition will display the outcome of a collaborative installation incorporating the work produced by participants during the course of the AYAH workshops alongside the works of Sara Choudhrey, Zarah Hussain and Ben Johnson illustrating digital practices in contemporary Islamic art. On 29th June FLUX will host a specialist talks event centred around Art as Collaborative Community Practice, with a panel of guests speaking on the subject.

Exhibition opening event: 28th of June 2018
