Young Photographers

Young Photographers is a menteeship programme for young adults living, working, or with a strong connection to North Kensington.

The mentees undergo a six-month work placement documenting the Grenfell Memorial Community Mosaic project, alongside professional photographer Zute Lightfoot.

The programme not only enhances the participants' photography skills but also enlarges their portfolio and offers a real-life understanding of how to shoot engaging photos and manage an ongoing relationship with a client.

After completing the programme, Young Photographers alumni have been offered commissions by other organisations for paid work. ACAVA Shoots facilitates further support and mentoring to our Young Photographers alumni.

Grenfell Memorial Community Mosaic
The Grenfell Memorial Community Mosaic is a project initiated in May 2018 by ACAVA in partnership with Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre. The mosaic is an ever-growing installation situated at the base of Grenfell Tower. Each month a different community, faith group or school work with ACAVA artist Emily Fuller and local artist Tomomi Yoshida to create a new section to add to the artwork.
