Callout to artists for Harlow Past Futures exhibition.

Harlow – Past Futures is an exploration through creative media to showcase Harlow, its past, present and future. The Gatehouse Gallery exhibition is part of the Harlow is 70 celebrations; featuring in the Harlow 70 programme and the annual Harlow Art and Sculpture Trail.

This themed exhibition is open locally, regionally and nationally to all artists who are interested in Harlow as a New Town/Sculpture Town, its architecture and town plan, its geography and environment, its people and communities, the culture and innovations, and its future. We are looking for interpretation of the theme in any media: 2D, 3D, paintings, prints, photography, installations or interaction, performance, projected, audio or sculpture.
 
Exhibition Dates: 8 July to 5 August 2017
Opening Times: Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat 10am-4pm 
Private View/Wrap party: 5 August 2017 4.30-6pm 
 
Submission dates 
Artists can submit up to 3 pieces of artwork to the Gatehouse gallery for consideration, on either Friday 23 June 10am-12pm or Saturday 24th June 10am-12pm.
 
Artist’s fees
There will be an admin fee of £10 if your work is selected, this fee will go towards the printing of posters/advertising and expenses for volunteers to invigilate the exhibition.
(if you cannot make these dates please contact us to arrange a time that you can bring work to the gallery). The work needs to be submitted ready to hang or presented, we strongly advise that artists use mirror plates for wall based work. Details on the back of the work are needed: contact details, name and title of work, medium and price. 
 
Selection process
The Gatehouse team will select artworks for the exhibition; selected artists will be told if they are successful by 26 June. Work not selected will need to be collected the following week (date TBC). All entries to the show will be considered but not all work submitted will be accepted due to lack of exhibition space or deemed not suitable for this exhibition.
 
Terms and conditions
The gallery will take 25% commission from works sold. All artwork will be insured once hung.
Selected work will be expected to remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.  Works not collected after 1 week from collection date may be subject to a storage charge.
Though we will do our best to look after the work, Gatehouse Gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage whilst work is not forming part of the exhibition. Additional insurance by the artist is recommended.
